Supercrooks and Superheroes

Super heroesWhen I was a kid I used to love comics. It started when I was just a wee girl in Japan back in the early 60’s, watching Manga animations on the telly. My favourite was the “Golden Skeleton” and I especially remember one episode where the boy and the girl were trapped in a steel box that was slowly filling up with water….Ah, the thrill of fear! At the very last minute the Golden Skeleton entered the scene, ripping the box apart, saving the boy and the girl. This might sound really random and sort of gross, but these comics left me with the secure notion that there would always be a Golden Skeleton (aka super hero) to save me and the world. I would always be safe. With time and growing up of course I realised that this wasn’t the case. But, on the other hand, there were no super crooks really, just the cold war…and that ended.

Now there are super crooks, like Monsanto, going for world domination. A real honest-to-god comic-book like super crook. Monsanto wants to control the food, our sustenance, wants to turn it into a chemical cocktail of poison. Monsanto is killing the bees, the soil, nature and us. And what about Nestlé and the water? Another super crook trying to control the very essence of life.

Where is the superhero? Where is Golden Skeleton?

Watching the reactions of people around the world, my conclusion is this:

We are all heroes, each and every one of us, and when we unite in one voice we become a superhero. When united, nobody can overrule us, not Monsanto, not Nestlé. We are the majority and as weak as we are on our own, as strong we can be when united.
